The Département d’anthropologie is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in public archaeology (which includes community-based, collaborative, indigenous, engaged, citizen and participatory approaches). The new professor will be able to theorise public archaeology on a global scale, and create a programme of research, practice and teaching based in the greater Montréal region.
The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the University. The successful candidate will have to teach at least two specialised courses in public archaeology (undergraduate and Master’s levels), establish collaborations with local and regional stakeholders, and integrate the public in a participatory archaeology.
