SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Cultural Resources Project Manager with a Geoarchaeological focus and expertise to join our Seattle office. You should have experience with Pacific Northwest archaeology or glacial geomorphology, and with cultural resources consulting in the Pacific Northwest, and be prepared to be a key contributing member of our Seattle team.
Your role will be to lead, direct, and manage projects; develop research designs, field methods, and analysis; mentor staff; and play a significant role in office business development. You should be able to work full time and have the ability to travel. Oversee all aspects of Cultural Resources Project Management to include: field research, data collection, inventory, analysis, and final report production ensuring they are conducted in accordance with the QA/QC plan.
Provide geoarchaeological background and analysis for a variety of projects.
Additionally, the Project Manager will manage budgets, prepare proposals, interact with clients, and manage the CR staff work load projects.
Other duties as needed such as: author large technical reports, research designs, treatment plans and other technical documents.
Maintain good working relationships with state and federal agency contacts and clients.
Lead and assist with business development efforts in the Seattle and Pacific Northwest market.
Minimum of a Master's degree in Archaeology, Geoarchaeology, or Anthropology required
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory fieldwork experience required.
Minimum of one (1) year of project management experience required.
Must demonstrate completion of survey, testing, and/or data recovery excavation projects involving geoarchaeological investigations and preparation of final reports consistent with the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservations (DAHPs) standards for cultural resource reporting, or similar requirements.
Demonstrated commitment to business development including writing successful proposals, maintaining positive relationships with clients, and willingness to seek out new client opportunities.
Emphasis on geoarchaeology of the Pacific Northwest highly preferred (other regional geoarchaeological experience will be considered).
Experience with Section 106 and NEPA required.
Experience with Washington SEPA, Washington GEO 05-05 preferred.
Experience working with Tribes and agency staff.
Listed as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (or qualified for RPA status).
Must have ability to be listed on various federal and state cultural resource permits.
