The Anthropology Program in the School of Language, Culture, and Society (SLCS) at Oregon State University seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Instructor for a full-time position in undergraduate teaching to begin September, 16 2019. This is a 9-month, instructor position. Renewal will be at the discretion of the School Director. The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach courses in both Archaeology and Physical/Biocultural Anthropology for on-campus and on-line (e-campus) environments. Teaching load will include 11 courses per year. OSU is on the quarter system, so this teaching load will be distributed over three 10-week long terms. Required qualifications: PhD in Anthropology or related field by date of application, substantial teaching experience both on-campus and on-line, and demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
The Department of Anthropology is dedicated to a four-field approach, and has 11 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, with 250 undergraduate enrolled majors (on campus and online) and approximately 45 graduate students in our Masters and PhD programs.
