Dudek is currently seeking a full-time Senior Archaeologist to work closely with our team of cultural resources specialists (architectural historians, archaeologists and historic preservation professionals). Dudek’s clients include private and public entities, requiring the ability to pivot between development and agency support.
This position can be based in any one of our Dudek’s California offices. Primary work will be conducted in Southern California, although responsibilities may include projects in Northern California, other areas of California, the Great Basin, and elsewhere.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare archaeological studies, reports and plans and successfully lead archaeological fieldwork throughout California
Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates and lead proposal efforts
Conduct QA/QC review of internal and third party documents
Education and Essential Skills
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in anthropology or a closely-related field
Minimum of six years of cultural resources management experience
Expertise in the prehistory/history of California
Demonstrated working knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and various state regulations
Previous experience successfully managing projects to completion as well as cultivating client relationships and business opportunities.
Strong, concise writing, research and data management skills (writing samples required)
Strong communication skills (both with clients and coworkers)
Ability to clearly communicate federal, state and local regulatory requirements to clients
Ability to manage all aspects of a project from start to finish
Experience with marketing and business development
Team-oriented attitude and approach
Ability to travel
