The University of Georgia Franklin College of Arts and Science is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology. We seek an outstanding scholar whose research and substantive interests focus on the anthropological archaeology of large-scale agriculture landscapes past, present, and future in ways that connect human livelihood with biophysical and hydrological processes to form complex social-ecological systems. Start date: August 1,2020.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Advanced expertise in archaeological science, environmental studies, quantitative methods, agent-based modeling, spatial or simulation modeling, and sensitivity analysis of collective decision-making at multiple scales along with regional expertise in the history and prehistory of large-scale agriculture in Mesoamerica, South America, Near East or Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities: Individual will hold the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology with responsibilities that include teaching, mentoring, and supervising undergraduate and graduate students, developing, obtaining and carrying out independent research, and publishing findings in appropriate outlets.
