The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) seeks candidates to join our curatorial staff. Multiple positions are available and we welcome applications from scholars at all experience levels.
These positions are also open in terms of specializations: we seek scholars with a solid grounding in the broad field of Native/Indigenous cultures, arts, and histories of the Western Hemisphere (North, Central, and South America) who combine a disciplinary specialization (anthropology, history, ethnology, archaeology, ethnohistory, applied anthropology, art history, etc.) with one or more regional or topical foci (such as the contemporary Arctic, Latin American textiles, South American archaeology, North Pacific peoples, etc.). Our goal is to identify curators whose strengths and experience can enrich and support our scholarly team and NMAI's work going forward. This position is located in Suitland, Maryland. The Smithsonian Institution is an equal opportunity employer.
For additional information about the position and to submit an application, please go to USAJobs.gov and reference job number 20A-JC-305498-DEU-NMAI. Applications accepted through Thursday, August 6, 2020.
