ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ADOT) Driving the future of transportation with a diverse and innovative team Job Summary: The Historic Preservation Team Lead supervises members of the Historic Preservation Team (HPT), and manages the cultural resources review of development projects in accordance with applicable regulations under the general direction of the Cultural Resources Program Manager. Reviews and approves documentation required under 36 CFR 800.11 in support of environmental review under ADOT's assumption of Federal responsibility for Categorical Exclusions and ADOT's assumption of responsibility for NEPA Program Assignment. Manages and oversees schedules, consultant contracts, budgets, the preparation of required documentation that is legally sufficient and defensible in the court of law, and coordinates timely completion of project deliverables for cultural resource analyses, consultation, permitting, and NEPA/Environmental authorizations in accordance with federal and state law. Tracks environmental deliverables and ensures that the HPT projects are delivered on-schedule. Advises management and project teams of potential environmental risk relating to the protection of cultural resources, and suggests resolution. Supervises the work of professional consultants. The Ideal Candidate for this Position will have: Training/experience in management/supervision of employees; training in Section 106 of NHPA, Arizona SHPA, Section 4(f), NEPA, and other State and Federal cultural resource laws and implementing regulations; experience in the evaluation and documentation of the historic built environment helpful; training/experience in project management, public speaking, facilitation, negotiation. Requirements: Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Qualification Standards for Archaeology. Valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete page 5 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.12 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR. |
