Assistant Professor in Maritime Archaeology
The Department of Anthropology at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a specialization in maritime archaeology. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment beginning August 1, 2022. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in maritime archaeology, including archaeological artifact documentation and analysis techniques, combined with advanced knowledge of archaeological conservation and/or ship reconstruction. Geographic area and chronological period are open, although particular consideration will be given to candidates who specialize in post-medieval and/or Asian seafaring. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct field and laboratory research in maritime archaeology, mentor PhD and undergraduate students, teach a 2-2 c
