The Doris Z. Stone Post-Doctoral Fellowship, appointed in the Stone Center for Latin American Studies and housed at the Middle American Research Institute (MARI), aims to foster the professional development of gifted scholars, enrich MARI’s vigorous research environment, and cultivate intellectual exchange within the Institute's research community. We seek to support the development of early-career scholars from diverse backgrounds—especially scholars from historically or geographically under-represented or indigenous groups—conducting innovative anthropological research in Mesoamerica or Central America, areas where Doris Z.
