The University of Texas at San Antonio seeks a dynamic leader with an innovative vision for a 21st-century, university-based contract archaeology facility to serve as Director of the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR). Established in 1974, CAR is an active archaeological contract facility, a state-accredited collections repository, a research unit with close ties to the Department of Anthropology, and a liaison with the local community in matters of cultural heritage (http://car.utsa.edu/index.html). CAR’s staff of 21 employees work at the University’s Main Campus in a facility with 12,500 square feet of lab, office, classroom, and curation space.
